Welcome to FreelanceShield. By accessing or using our website, progressive web app (PWA), or services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use our tools.
1. Nature of Services
FreelanceShield provides software tools for freelancers, including an invoice generator and a contract risk scanner.We are not a law firm, and we are not your accountant.
- Contract Scanner: This tool uses automated heuristics and AI to identify potential common risks in text. It does not provide legal advice. You should always consult a qualified attorney before signing binding agreements.
- Invoice Generator: This tool formats data provided by you. You are responsible for ensuring your invoices comply with your local tax laws (e.g., GST in India, VAT in EU).
2. Local-First Data & Liability
Our unique "Local-First" architecture means your data (contracts, client lists, invoice history) is storedlocally on your device (in browser LocalStorage or IndexedDB). We do not host copies of your private data.
Therefore:
- You are responsible for backing up your own data (e.g., by downloading PDF invoices).
- We cannot recover your data if you clear your browser cache, uninstall the app, or lose your device.
- We are not liable for any data loss resulting from browser updates or device failures.
3. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, FreelanceShield and its creator (Kartikeya Mishra) shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from:
- Your use or inability to use the service;
- Any errors or omissions in the contract analysis or invoice generation;
- Any legal or financial consequences of using documents generated by our tools.
The service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis.
4. User Conduct
You agree not to:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any aspect of the software.
- Use the services for any illegal purpose or to generate fraudulent invoices.
- Attack the website via DDoS or other malicious means.
5. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising under these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, India.
